Its great when it wants to work. But not only did they slash the points/rewards to a fraction of what it used to be, which was still lengthy. But i "redeemed" a month of xbox ultimate game pass, but i was still charged. The only thing that happened was losing all my points and getting nothing in return and no reply from microsoft about the issue. To top it off, the app does not accurately record actions so the already slashed rewards points cannot even be collected. I want my earned free month!

I'd say pretty necessary if you own an Xbox, you can totally go without it, but if you're too lazy to find your controller or you want a customized profile picture, you should download this app. You can even stream your games to your phone and bring your console with you anywhere in the house, though they should improve on that feature. It's a bit choppy, and you need to bring your controller with you. TL;DR: convenient, you should at least try it out.

But maybe if I could open the app and actually use it I'd be able to tell you but other than that it sucks because it's just a picture I can click on that tells me it crashed LOL every time you send out bug fixes it's still broken so get your act together Microsoft. Updated stupid app now i can't even sign in it's just a blank white screen and nothing happens. followed instructions to clear cache clear storage reinstalled app still doesn't work garbage app.
